The Para Special Forces circular badge — parachute above, winged dagger below, the word BALIDAAN arced beneath it in cream on maroon — is one of the most recognised symbols in Indian special operations.

To earn the right to wear this badge, a soldier must complete one of the most gruelling selection and training programmes in the Indian Army. Para SF troopers are qualified paratroopers, combat divers, and high-altitude warfare specialists simultaneously. They operate where no other unit can. They are inserted by air, sea, and land. They are extracted by the same routes — or they find their own way out.

BALIDAAN is not a motto they were given. It is a value they chose — the day they volunteered for selection, knowing what lay ahead.
